A Show of Their Own

Welcome to A Show of Their Own's blog. What an amazing thing MLB is doing for bloggers! This is our first official post and we feel we should introduce ourselves to the wide world of baseball bloggers and readers.  Let's answer some common questions.

1. So what is A Show of Their Own?

A Show of Their Own is an internet based radio sports talk show (wow that's a mouth full). A Show of Their Own is all about the New York Yankees. Hosts Brittany and Bernadette discuss news and notes about their favorite team, the New York Yankees. You can join the ladies and special guests every Monday night at 11:00 PM for all the latest on the 26-time World Champions! Call in and talk to Brit & Bern @ (347) 945-7751

            2. Can you tell me more about your hosts?

Brittany is currently attending Wingate University in North Carolina where she is working towards a degree in Sports Management. She coaches high school softball at Central Academy in NC. During her free time she enjoys watching baseball, writing for her blog The Baseball Whisperer, (www.myspace.com/swbyankeegroupie29), and playing golf. She hopes to one day work within the Yankees organization as a broadcaster/analyst or scout.

Bernadette is a 20-year resident of The Bronx and is the founder and owner of Out Of Write Field (www.write-field.com) a baseball news aggregator and blogger community. She also writes her own baseball blog, Lady At The Bat (www.ladybatting.com). In addition to watching and cheering for her beloved Yankees, Bernadette plays the recorder and enjoys hiking in upstate New York.

            3. Who is the guy in the introduction and call sweeps?

Kary is the show's "cool music/voice guy" heard in intros and between segments. He is the producer of "The Matt and Ramona Show" a radio show based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Though he's lived in the South since he was 4, Kary still considers himself a Yankee since he was born in Burlington, New Jersey. Check out his show at www.mattandramona.com

            4. What's the difference in your show and other sport shows?

A Show of Their Own is dedicated to bringing you the latest news and issues surrounding the New York Yankees. We focus on one team rather than stretching ourselves over many teams.  A Show of Their Own also focuses on the POSITIVE things going on in baseball. And we are proud to offer the world of baseball two women's point of views on our national pastime.

            5. Positives, will that not be boring? I like gossip!

Brittany and Bernadette want to restore and maintain baseball's dignity. While we do focus on the positives, we assure you it's never boring. We always have an opinion and we don't always agree.

            6. Two women talking about baseball?

Yes! Two intelligent women discuss the New York Yankees. Don't let their gender fool you, these ladies know their baseball. And we promise, they never talk about how "hot" a player is or other teams' "costume" this is real baseball talk!

            7. When did the show begin?

The show launched on March 31, 2008. The ladies do one show a week, every Monday at 11:00pm EST

            8. Who comes on as guests?

The ladies are working hard to bring guest to the show, but since the show is rather new, the ladies are still working some kinks out. Later in the year the ladies hope to have some big name guests on. (So Yankee players, owners, scouts, broadcasters, etc. if you are reading, we'd love you to call in)!

            9. I want to be a guest on the show. How do I contact Brit

                and  Bern?

You can email us at: blmorgan@wingate.edu  and let us know who you are and what you'd like to promote/talk about on the show. We'll set up a phone conference where we'll get all the details in order.

Now that you all know a little bit more about us, we hope you'll tune in every Monday at 11pm EST @ www.blogtalkradio.com/ashowoftheirown
